Overview:
The Production Associate will be responsible for managing and tracking the production and delivery process from concept to delivery at the Distribution Center (DC). This role ensures the timely and efficient production of goods through vendor and factory communication, order tracking, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage weekly factory production schedules and provide regular updates to cross-functional teams.
- Communicate daily with vendors to track production status and ensure timely product delivery.
- Support the Production Manager in monitoring work-in-progress (WIP) from order issuance to final delivery.
- Prepare and present WIP status reports regularly.
- Manage and track shipment schedules, adjust order dates, and close orders as needed; ensure Purchase Order (PO) maintenance in ERP and SCM systems.
- Direct factories on shipment modes or expedite orders as necessary, including managing air shipment splits.
- Monitor logistical issues, such as transportation and customs clearance, for overseas vendors in collaboration with the Production and Logistics Managers.
- Update Shipment Trackers and Inbound Receivable Reports for distribution to Sales and Accounting teams.
- Actively participate in weekly production meetings with cross-functional team members.
- Assist the Production Manager in seasonal or replenishment product development processes.
- Proactively troubleshoot potential issues with factories and resolve production challenges or escalate to supervisors as needed.
- Collaborate with the Forecasting and Planning team to provide information regarding monthly orders to factories.
- Participate in system and process upgrades; assist with factory system utilization.
- Follow up with external partners on material availability to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Communicate style or material/trim changes to vendors as necessary.
- Lead style setup, item setup, and factory setup processes to ensure timely PO issuance.
- Manage shipment documentation and submission processes.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 1-3 years of experience in an apparel-related position.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficient in creating Work in Progress (WIP) and Time & Action (T&A) calendars.
- Basic understanding of apparel production flow and processes.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Team-oriented with a proactive, adaptable mindset.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Art, Merchandising, Marketing, Photography, or a related field.
- PLM, SCM, and ERP system experience preferred.
Compensation:
$52,500-$68,640 annual salary. Kindthread encourages applications from candidates at all levels where pay will be based on experience.
